Fishing in Slovenia has 2 seasons
I guide fishing in Slovenia for more than a decade. In all those years i guided more than 50 rivers in Slovenia. Each river is unique and very special to me. Most of the rivers are alpine style , some are karst rivers and I and my clients enjoyed all of them.
Trout and grayling season
From 1st of March till 30th of November
That season is primarely done by flyfishing.
For trouts and graylings i guide more than 50 rivers. Most of the rivers are alpine style, some are chalk streams and karst style rivers.
We ussualy pick the river with clients due to the conditions on the water.
Danube salmon season
From 1st of October till 14th of February
Danube salmon (latin hucho hucho) is the closest realtive to mongolian taimen.
Hucho is primarely predator, so we use bigger lures or flies. Both spinning and flyfishing are allowed with special regulations due to the rivers and fishing clubs in Slovenia.
Both seasons I was always commited to make with hidden paths as much as possible which was always the most charming and exciting for the fishermen.
